Premonstratensian canonia by the church of Annunciation of Virgin Mary was founded at the end of the 12th century. Blessed Hroznata is said to be its founder.
In 1276 the canonia received a special privilege and it was given the protection of Apostle Comitat.
In the 16th century Holy Orders were decaying. The monastery was destroyed by fire several times and therefore construction of new convent was initiated.
During World War II the canonia served partially as a refugee camp and partly as a maternity hospital for German women.
After the war the German Monks were transfered and later also the Czech community.
Holy Orders were renewed there only in 1990.
